Cork
Founded in the 6th century when St Finbarr established a church and a school, Cork is the second city in Ireland and claims to be its cultural capital. Cork enjoys all the usual facilities of an important commercial and industrial centre, with a unique atmosphere. The River Lee almost bisects the city, and attracts hungry seagulls, white swans and giant freighters to the centre of the town. The city is within easy reach of Dublin and Rosslare, making it an ideal location for a weekend break.
