Lille
The city of Lille is capital of Flanders and a thousand years ago was governed by the Counts of Flanders. Birthplace of Général de Gaulle, it is a welcoming and lively city rich in history with a wealth of historical sites, diverse architecture and beautiful shops. There are over 15 museums (including France's second largest, the Fine Arts Museum) and the many street festivals and picturesque markets make this a fascinating and enchanting city.
