Ypres
Ypres or Ieper was an important textile centre in the Middle Ages, exporting vast quantities of linen to England. The city was totally destroyed during the First World War and has been rebuilt in its medieval style to reflect its former glory. It is an ideal place for a weekend break as there is so much to do and see.
