Ladies Festivals in Mechelen

The landmark of Mechelen is the huge St. Rumbold's tower (in Dutch : St. Romboutstoren). This impressive late-medieval tower can be seen from far away. Its imposing height completely dominates the town centre.

The town was founded in the early Middle-Ages on the banks of the river Dijle (which also runs through the town of Leuven). It is a typical Flemish city with its origins as one of the 17 provinces of the old Low Countries. The young Charles V (later Emperor Charles) spent his youth here and was brought up in the court of Margaret of Austria. Many of Mechelen's buildings date from this age of splendour.

Your hotel is the brand new Novotel located within easy walking distance of the city centre where you will find a host of bars, restaurants and shops.
